Professor Davis is an experienced consultant physician and endocrinologist at Fremantle Hospital and a professor of medicine at The University of Western Australia. With over 40 years dedicated to diabetes research, he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Australian Diabetes Society in 2021. His extensive expertise has informed federal and state government advisory committees, and he remains actively engaged with leading advocacy groups in diabetes care.
Previously a councillor for the Australian Diabetes Society and a co-lead of the WA Health Department’s Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinical Network, he has had input into shaping policy and service delivery in the field. As principal investigator of the Fremantle Diabetes Studies, he leads groundbreaking community-based cohort research, driving advancements in diabetes prevention and management.
Beyond his contributions to Australian healthcare, Professor Davis maintains global research collaborations and serves as a reviewer for leading diabetes research funders and journals, reinforcing his commitment to improving diabetes outcomes worldwide.
